Yeah, I know. I should be explaining where I've been. Honestly, I don't think anyone except my mom is reading and I don't mind that. Let's just say this: Months 11 through 17 have been intensive. Little Girl is amazing and we're more in love with her every day but I don't even have time to do all of my chores. Couple that with a pretty bad Crohn's flare and it's been survival only.
Summers at the university, contrary to popular assumption, are not lazy and relaxed. Freshmen orientations and summer projects mean full days. I get much more tired much more easily than other people do, so I'm often dozing on the bus ride home and not able to do much at home.
There's mommy guilt that comes with this, of course. In the evenings I should be taking Little Girl for walks, or to the backyard to play, or to the splash pad or the children's museum. I'm not really capable of much and she's missing out. And that's that.
This week is a small lull in the chaos for me, capped by a Friday off for a haircut (woo!) and the dentist (woo?). Cross your fingers I feel well enough for them.
